Apple AirPods Pro 3
The first pair of AirPods that's made me stop reaching for over-ear headphones on flights — and the reason is entirely the noise cancellation.
I've been rotating through Apple's whole earbud lineup for this one, testing the Pro 3 side by side with the AirPods 4 I recommended a couple months back and the Beats Solo 4 that's been my go-to for travel. The Pro 3 is the first pair that's actually changed which headphones I pack.
Where the Price Premium Actually Goes
The active noise cancellation is the whole story here. It's not a marginal bump over the AirPods 4 — it's a genuinely different experience on a plane or in a loud coffee shop. The new heart-rate sensor is a nice bonus if you're already in the Apple Watch ecosystem, but it's not why I'd recommend these.
Seal quality matters more than usual with ANC earbuds, and the included tip sizes got a comfortable fit on the first try — no trial and error required.
AirPods Pro 3 vs. AirPods 4
The AirPods 4 are still the better buy if you don't care about noise cancellation — they're lighter, noticeably cheaper, and plenty good for daily wear around the house or office. The Pro 3's price premium is entirely justified by ANC and seal quality; if you never fly or work somewhere loud, you're paying for a feature you won't use.
AirPods Pro 3 vs. Beats Solo 4
Different category — in-ear vs. over-ear — but worth the comparison if you're choosing one for travel. Beats win on battery life and bass; the Pro 3 wins on portability and how much it disappears in a pocket. I'm packing the Pro 3 for anything short-haul now and saving the Beats for long trips where I want the extra battery buffer.

Blink Outdoor 4 XR — Solid Hardware, Wrong Timing
Not a knock on the hardware — the 2-year battery life and 1000ft open-air range are genuinely impressive specs, and the 4-camera bundle pricing is solid if you're building out multi-camera coverage.
I just covered a home security camera (eufy's Security 4K Indoor Camera E30) back in June, and running another one this soon felt repetitive rather than useful. Worth a look if outdoor multi-cam coverage is specifically what you need — I just didn't want to review two cameras two months apart.
